Mohawk Mustangs Girls Volleyball 3-1 Alsea

Mohawk volleyball picked up a road win Monday, defeating Alsea 3-1 in a non-league match played in Alsea. The Marcola, Oregon-based program, which competes in the 1A-3 Mountain West League, improves to 16-1 on the season with the result. Mohawk entered the match at 15-1, already one of the stronger records in Class 1A, and backed that up with a four-set performance against the host Beavers. Winning three sets to one is never an automatic outcome on the road, and the fact that Alsea took a set keeps this result honest. Mohawk did what it needed to do, however, closing out the match and adding another quality win to an already impressive resume. The victory comes at an important point in the fall schedule, as postseason positioning begins to take shape across Class 1A. Mohawk will look to carry this momentum into its next outing and protect a record that has them among the elite programs in their classification.
