Cottage Grove Lions Girls Volleyball 0-2 The Dalles

The Dalles handed Cottage Grove a 2-0 defeat in girls volleyball Saturday, sending the Lions home from a non-league road trip without a win. Cottage Grove, a 4A-4 Sky-Em League program out of Cottage Grove, Oregon, made the trek north to face the Riverhawks in a matchup designed to test the Lions against outside competition before the postseason push. The two-set loss dropped Cottage Grove to 6-10 on the season. Playing away from home against a non-league opponent always carries a degree of uncertainty, and The Dalles proved to be a difficult host Saturday. Without a detailed box score available, the margin tells the story well enough, as the Riverhawks controlled both sets and denied the Lions any opportunity to extend the match. Cottage Grove will look to regroup and carry momentum into the final stretch of the Sky-Em League slate. With the regular season winding down, every remaining match carries added weight for a Lions squad working to close the year on a strong note.
