Cottage Grove Lions Girls Volleyball 0-3 Elmira

Elmira handed Cottage Grove a 3-0 defeat in girls volleyball on Thursday evening, sweeping the Lions on their home floor in Cottage Grove, Oregon. The non-league matchup dropped Cottage Grove, a member of the Sky-Em League (4A), to 6-9 on the season. Elmira controlled the match from start to finish, winning all three sets without dropping one, though detailed set scores were not available at press time. For Cottage Grove, the result adds another difficult entry to what has been a challenging stretch of the schedule. The Lions have now lost more games than they have won on the year, but with league play still providing opportunities to finish strong, there is plenty of volleyball left to be played. Cottage Grove will look to reset and respond in its next outing, with the team eager to carry some momentum into the final portion of the fall schedule. Fans should check the school's athletics page for updated scheduling information.
