Cottage Grove Lions Girls Soccer 8-0 Elmira

Eight goals told the story Tuesday as Cottage Grove girls soccer steamrolled visiting Elmira 8-0 in a Sky-Em League (4A) contest played in Cottage Grove, Oregon. The Lions controlled the match from start to finish, never giving the Falcons a foothold in what became a dominant home performance. The shutout victory pushed Cottage Grove to 5-3-1 overall and 4-2 in league play, a timely result as the Sky-Em standings tighten heading into the final weeks of the regular season. An eight-goal margin signals more than just a favorable matchup. It reflects a team playing with confidence and finishing ability that can make opponents uncomfortable in any game situation. With the Lions having found their footing after a mixed start to the season, the momentum from this result could carry weight moving forward. Cottage Grove will look to build on Tuesday's performance as league play continues and postseason positioning comes into sharper focus.
