Cottage Grove Lions Girls Soccer 1-1 Marshfield

Cottage Grove girls soccer came away with a 1-1 tie at Marshfield on Thursday, October 8, in a Sky-Em League (4A) road matchup that kept the Cottage Grove, Oregon squad in the thick of the league race. Neither team could find a decisive second goal, and the points were split in what shaped up as an evenly contested affair. The draw moves Cottage Grove to 5-3-2 on the season and 4-2 in conference play, keeping their postseason positioning very much alive with the regular season winding down. Earning a point on the road against a tough Marshfield side is a result Cottage Grove can build on, even if the team would have preferred all three. With the conference standings tightening, every remaining league game carries significant weight. Cottage Grove will look to turn this momentum into a full result when they return to action next week.
