Thurston Colts Girls Soccer 2-1 Willamette

A resilient road effort paid off Thursday night as Thurston girls soccer picked up a 2-1 victory over Willamette in Midwestern League (5A) play, giving the Springfield, Oregon program a hard-earned conference win away from home. The Colts entered the match sitting at 6-5 on the year and needing a result to stay in the league conversation. They got one. Thurston held on through a tight final stretch to secure the win and improve to 7-5 overall and 1-2 in Midwestern League play. Winning on the road against a conference opponent is never simple, and Thursday's result gives the Colts something to build on as the regular season winds toward its final stretch. The margin was slim, but the two points in the standings are real. Thurston will look to carry this momentum into upcoming league matches, where every game now carries added weight in the push for a stronger postseason position.
