Thurston Colts Boys Soccer 2-1 North Eugene

Thurston picked up a hard-earned 2-1 boys soccer victory over North Eugene on Thursday evening, giving the Colts a welcome boost at home in Springfield, Oregon, in 5A-6 Midwestern League Hybrid play. The win moves Thurston to 4-10 overall and 1-4 in league action. North Eugene made it a contest, but the Colts held on down the stretch to secure just their second league point of the fall. For a squad that has battled through a tough schedule, a home victory against a league opponent carries real weight this late in the season. The two-goal output gave the defense something to protect, and they answered the call, limiting the Highlanders to a single score. With the regular season winding down, Thurston will look to carry this momentum into their remaining schedule and build on what was a gritty, determined performance. The Colts return to action next week with a chance to add to their league win total.
