Country Christian proved to be tough hosts Thursday afternoon, edging Thurston 4-2 in non-league baseball action. The Colts couldn't quite match the Eagles' offensive output in what became a closely contested pitcher's duel.

Thurston managed to plate two runs but left opportunities on the basepaths as Country Christian's pitching staff kept the visitors from mounting any sustained rallies. The loss evens Thurston's record at 2-2 through the early portion of the spring campaign.

While the result wasn't what the Colts hoped for on the road, the competitive nature of the game against a quality opponent should provide valuable experience as league play approaches. Thurston showed they can hang with solid competition, even if they couldn't quite finish the job.

The Colts will look to bounce back and get back above .500 when they return to action. With plenty of baseball still ahead this spring, Thursday's setback serves as motivation rather than a major concern for a team still finding its rhythm.
