South Eugene Axe Boys Soccer 1-0 Churchill

A single goal was all South Eugene needed Tuesday, as the Axe boys soccer team defeated Churchill 1-0 in a tight 6A-8 Midwestern League Hybrid contest at home in Eugene, Oregon. The shutout victory moves South Eugene to 13-0-1 on the season and a flawless 6-0 in conference play, keeping the Axe firmly atop the league standings as the postseason draws near. Against a Churchill side that pushed hard for an equalizer, South Eugene's defense held firm and protected the slim advantage through the final whistle. The low-scoring nature of the match reflects how competitive the Midwestern League Hybrid has become this fall, and a one-goal win over a quality opponent carries plenty of weight heading into the final stretch of the regular season. With their unbeaten record still intact and conference title implications on the line, the Axe will look to carry this momentum into their next matchup and close out the regular season strong.
