Sheldon Irish Girls Volleyball 1-2 La Salle Prep

La Salle Prep handed Sheldon a 2-1 defeat in girls volleyball on Saturday, sending the Irish home with a tough early lesson to open the 2026 fall season. Sheldon, based in Eugene, Oregon, and competing in the Southwest Conference (6A), made the road trip to face La Salle Prep in a non-league contest that served as the program's first real test of the year. The Irish battled through three sets, showing enough resilience to claim one set but ultimately could not close out the match against the Falcons on their home floor. Non-league early-season matchups against programs from outside the Southwest Conference are designed to challenge teams before league play begins, and Saturday's result gives the coaching staff plenty of film to study and areas to sharpen. Sheldon drops to 0-1 on the young season. The Irish will look to regroup and earn their first win when they return to action next week.
