North Eugene Highlanders Girls Soccer 2-1 Thurston

A second goal made the difference Thursday as North Eugene girls soccer held off Thurston 2-1 in a 5A-6 Midwestern League Hybrid match at home in Eugene, Oregon. The Highlanders controlled enough of the contest to secure the narrow victory, improving to 11-1 overall and a perfect 3-0 in league play. Thurston made things interesting by cutting the deficit to one, but North Eugene's defense held firm in the closing minutes to preserve the win. The result continues a strong fall campaign for the Highlanders, who entered the match at 10-1 and have now won three straight league contests without a loss. With the postseason window approaching, Thursday's performance demonstrated that North Eugene can grind out results when opponents apply pressure late. The Highlanders will look to keep their momentum rolling and protect their standing atop the league standings as the regular season winds toward its final weeks.
