Marist Catholic Spartans Girls Soccer 12-0 South Umpqua / Riddle

Twelve goals and a clean sheet on the road. The Marist Catholic girls soccer team, based in Eugene, Oregon and competing in the 4A-4 Sky-Em League, rolled to a dominant 12-0 victory over South Umpqua/Riddle on Tuesday in a league contest that left little doubt about where the Spartans stand in the Pacific Northwest's 4A landscape. The shutout win pushed Marist Catholic to a spotless 17-0 overall record and 12-0 in league play, maintaining one of the most impressive unbeaten runs in Oregon high school soccer this fall. The Spartans have now scored in bunches all season, and Tuesday's road performance showed no signs of complacency despite the long trip south. A defense that continues to deny opponents any foothold paired with an offense that finds the net at will makes Marist Catholic a genuinely difficult puzzle for any opponent to solve. The Spartans will look to keep the momentum rolling as the postseason approaches.
