Mapleton Sailors Softball 8-4 Taft

Mapleton's offense came alive Sunday afternoon as the softball team rolled to an 8-4 victory over Taft at home. The Pirates built momentum early and maintained control throughout the league matchup, pulling away for a decisive four-run margin.

The win moves Mapleton to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play, keeping pace in what's shaping up to be a competitive league race. After dropping their previous contest, the Pirates responded with authority against a Taft squad that made things interesting but couldn't match Mapleton's offensive production.

Mapleton's balanced attack produced runs consistently across multiple innings, while the defense handled Taft's challenges when it mattered most. The Pirates have now won six of their first seven games, establishing themselves as a force in the early portion of the spring season.
