Lowell Devils Baseball 11-10 Irrigon

Down runs became up runs in a hurry Thursday as Lowell baseball survived a wild 11-10 slugfest at Irrigon to pick up a crucial league win.
The Red Devils and Irrigon combined for 21 runs in what became an offensive showcase on the road. Lowell managed to stay one step ahead in the back-and-forth affair, holding on for the narrow victory despite late pressure from the home team.
The win moves Lowell to 3-5 overall and improves their conference record to 3-2, keeping them firmly in the league race as the spring season reaches its midpoint. After struggling early in the campaign, the Red Devils have found their rhythm in conference play.
Both offenses came ready to hit, with the teams combining for what likely approached 20 hits in ideal spring weather conditions. Lowell's ability to answer Irrigon's scoring pushes proved to be the difference in securing the road victory.
The Red Devils return home next week looking to build on this offensive momentum and continue their strong conference showing.
