Elmira Falcons Boys Soccer 0-6 Marist Catholic

Marist Catholic handed Elmira a 6-0 defeat in Mountain Valley Conference (3A) boys soccer Tuesday, leaving the Elmira, Oregon squad winless in league play this season. The Spartans were unable to generate offense against the Crusaders on the road, surrendering six goals in a lopsided result that reflected the difficulty of this stretch of the schedule. Elmira drops to 1-11-1 overall and 0-9 in conference play with the loss. The Crusaders controlled the match from the opening whistle, and Elmira's defense had no answer for the sustained pressure throughout the game. It has been a challenging season for the Spartans, who claimed their lone win back in September and have faced a tough slate of opponents since. With the fall season winding down and league play nearly complete, Elmira will look to finish on a competitive note and carry lessons from this season into the offseason. The Spartans return to action later this week.
