Cottage Grove Lions Football 0-40 Marshfield

Marshfield handed Cottage Grove a 40-0 defeat in a 4A-SD3 Special District 3 road football game Friday night, dropping the Lions from Cottage Grove, Oregon to 1-7 on the season. The Pirates controlled the contest from start to finish, keeping the Lions off the scoreboard entirely in a matchup that highlighted the gap between the two programs at this point in the year. Cottage Grove now stands 0-6 in league play, having faced a demanding conference slate through the back half of the schedule. Without a detailed box score available, the final margin tells the story clearly. A shutout loss on the road is a difficult result by any measure, but the Lions have continued to show up each week against tough competition. Cottage Grove will look to finish the regular season on a stronger note and use these final games as an opportunity to develop depth and build momentum heading into the offseason.
