Churchill Lancers Baseball 3-4 Country Christian / North Clackamas Christian

A clutch two-out hit in the seventh inning lifted Country Christian/North Clackamas Christian past Churchill 4-3 in a tightly contested baseball matchup Thursday at Churchill High School. The Lancers battled back from an early deficit but couldn't quite complete the comeback in what proved to be one of the season's most competitive league contests.
Churchill struck first with aggressive baserunning in the third inning, manufacturing runs through smart situational hitting. The visitors answered with patient at-bats, working deep counts to capitalize on scoring opportunities when they presented themselves.
The game remained deadlocked through six innings before Country Christian pushed across the deciding run in the final frame. Churchill mounted one last threat in the bottom of the seventh but left the tying run stranded at second base.
The loss drops Churchill to 7-4 overall and 4-2 in conference play, still well-positioned in the league standings. The Lancers will look to bounce back quickly with several crucial league games remaining on the schedule as the regular season winds down.
