Willamette Wolverines Softball 8-11 Blanchet Catholic

Both offenses came to play Tuesday afternoon, but Willamette couldn't quite keep pace in an 11-8 softball loss to Blanchet Catholic at home. The Wolverines saw their strong start to the season hit a speed bump as the Cavaliers outlasted them in a back-and-forth league contest that featured 19 total runs.
Willamette entered the day riding high with a 7-2 record, but Blanchet Catholic proved they're a formidable opponent in what turned into an offensive showcase. The Wolverines managed to plate eight runs but couldn't contain the Cavaliers' attack when it mattered most.
The loss drops Willamette to 7-3 overall as they navigate the heart of league play. While the defeat stings, the Wolverines have shown they can compete with quality opponents and generate runs consistently throughout the early portion of the season.
Willamette will look to bounce back quickly and get back in the win column as they continue their league schedule. The season remains young with plenty of opportunities ahead.
