Springfield Millers Boys Soccer 7-1 Thurston

Seven goals told the story Tuesday as Springfield boys soccer posted a commanding 7-1 victory over Thurston in 5A-6 Midwestern League Hybrid play at home in Springfield, Oregon. The win snapped a stretch of tough outings for the Millers, who improved to 5-6 overall and 1-2 in league with the result. Springfield controlled the match from early on, building a lead that grew throughout the afternoon and gave the home crowd plenty to cheer about. The offense clicked at a level not seen often this fall, generating sustained pressure and converting chances with consistency against a Thurston side that managed just one goal in response. After entering the game at 4-6, the Millers needed a performance like this to reestablish confidence heading into the back half of league play. The win provides a solid foundation to build on. Springfield will look to carry this momentum into its next league matchup and push further up the standings before the postseason picture takes shape.
