South Eugene Axe Softball 10-12 Caldera

Two runs in the final innings made all the difference as South Eugene softball dropped a heartbreaker to Caldera 12-10 on Tuesday afternoon. The high-scoring Southwest Conference (6A) matchup in Eugene, Oregon saw both teams combine for 22 runs in an offensive showcase.
South Eugene kept pace throughout the contest, matching Caldera's aggressive approach at the plate. The Axe managed to push across 10 runs but couldn't quite find the final surge needed to overcome their visitors in the league battle.
The loss moves South Eugene to 5-13 overall and 4-12 in conference play as the spring season continues. Despite the setback, the offensive production demonstrated the team's ability to generate runs against quality Southwest Conference pitching.
With several games remaining on the schedule, South Eugene will look to build on the positive offensive showing while tightening up defensively. The Axe return to action later this week as they continue their push through the final stretch of conference play.
