South Eugene Axe Girls Soccer 3-0 Willamette

A clean sheet and three goals gave South Eugene's girls soccer team a convincing 3-0 Southwest Conference (6A) victory over Willamette on Thursday evening in Eugene, Oregon. The Axe shut out the Wolverines from start to finish, continuing what has been a strong fall campaign at home. The win moves South Eugene to 9-2-1 on the season and a perfect 3-0 in league play, keeping the Axe firmly in the conference picture as the postseason approaches. A shutout victory in a league match carries extra weight at this stage of the year, and the defense held its form throughout the contest. With conference standings tightening across the Southwest Conference field, South Eugene's ability to control games on both ends of the pitch will be a key factor in the weeks ahead. The Axe return to action next week looking to extend their unbeaten run in league play and build on a record that already positions them as one of Eugene's top contenders this October.
