South Umpqua defeated Pleasant Hill 5-0 in non-league softball action Tuesday at South Umpqua High School. The Billies from Pleasant Hill, Oregon, who compete in the Mountain Valley Conference (3A), were shut out in their road matchup against the Lancers.

Pleasant Hill struggled to generate offensive momentum throughout the contest, unable to solve South Umpqua's pitching and defensive execution. The Lancers built their lead steadily and maintained control from the early innings through the final out.

The loss drops Pleasant Hill to 12-5 overall while maintaining their strong 6-2 conference record. Despite the setback, the Billies remain well-positioned in Mountain Valley Conference standings with their solid league mark.

Pleasant Hill had entered the game riding positive momentum from their recent stretch of play, but South Umpqua proved to be a formidable non-league opponent. The Billies will look to bounce back and return to their winning ways as they continue their season.

Pleasant Hill next focuses on conference play as they aim to strengthen their playoff positioning in the final weeks of the spring campaign.
