Pleasant Hill Billies Girls Volleyball 0-2 Marist Catholic

Marist Catholic defeated Pleasant Hill 2-0 in a non-league girls volleyball match played Saturday in Eugene, dropping the Highlanders to 6-3 on the season. Pleasant Hill, representing the Mountain Valley Conference (3A) out of Pleasant Hill, Oregon, made the road trip to face the Spartans and found tough sledding against a Marist Catholic squad playing in front of its home crowd. The Spartans controlled both sets, giving Pleasant Hill little room to find its rhythm on the road. Despite the result, the Highlanders entered the match with a strong 6-2 record and remain well-positioned in their conference standings heading deeper into the fall. Non-league matchups like this one serve as valuable measuring sticks against programs from different classifications and playing styles. Pleasant Hill will look to regroup and carry the lessons from Saturday's match back into Mountain Valley Conference play, where the Highlanders have built one of their more promising starts in recent memory.
