Lowell Devils Football 29-20 Myrtle Point

Lowell improved to 4-0 on the football season Friday night, holding off Myrtle Point 29-20 in a non-league contest played at home in Lowell, Oregon. The Cardinals, who compete in 2A, entered the game with a 3-0 record and left with their unbeaten mark intact after a nine-point victory over the visiting Tar Heels. Lowell built a lead and did enough defensively down the stretch to keep Myrtle Point from completing a comeback, holding on for the final margin. The win adds another quality result to a resume that has looked strong through four weeks. Facing a non-league opponent gave the Cardinals a chance to measure themselves outside of league play, and the result was encouraging. Lowell has now scored in bunches while showing the ability to protect a lead when it matters. The Cardinals will look to carry that momentum forward as the schedule continues and 2A league play remains on the horizon.
