Cottage Grove Lions Softball 10-13 Harrisburg

The Cottage Grove softball team couldn't quite keep pace in a wild offensive showcase, falling to Harrisburg 13-10 on the road Monday afternoon. Both teams combined for 23 runs in what turned into a slugfest that saw multiple lead changes throughout the contest.

The Lions showed plenty of fight, pushing across double-digit runs against a tough Harrisburg squad. However, the Eagles managed to stay one step ahead when it mattered most, using timely hitting to pull away in the later innings.

With the loss, Cottage Grove drops to 2-2 on the young season. While the defeat stings, the Lions demonstrated they can generate offense against quality competition, which should serve them well as league play approaches.
