Junction City Tigers Softball 0-3 Astoria

The bats went quiet for Junction City on Tuesday evening as the Tigers suffered their second loss of the season, falling 3-0 to Astoria in non-league softball action. Playing at home in Junction City, Oregon, the Sky-Em League (4A) leaders were held scoreless for just the second time this spring.
Astoria managed to scratch across three runs against a Tigers squad that entered the contest with an impressive 11-1 record. The loss drops Junction City to 11-2 overall while maintaining their perfect 7-0 conference mark in Sky-Em League play.
The Tigers have dominated league competition throughout the season, but Tuesday's non-conference matchup proved challenging against a determined Fishermen squad that executed when opportunities arose. Junction City's offensive struggles were uncharacteristic for a team that has been one of the most productive at the plate in 4A softball this spring.
With league play remaining the priority, the Tigers will look to bounce back quickly and continue their march toward a Sky-Em League championship as the regular season winds down.
