A wild offensive showcase at Junction City High turned into heartbreak for the Tigers on Tuesday afternoon. Junction City dropped an 11-10 slugfest to visiting Corbett in non-league baseball action, despite putting up double digits on the scoreboard.

The Tigers and Cardinals combined for 21 runs in what became a back-and-forth affair that kept fans on their feet throughout the afternoon. Junction City showed plenty of fight, matching Corbett nearly run for run, but came up just short when it mattered most.

The loss drops Junction City to 3-2 on the young season, though the Tigers demonstrated they can compete with quality opponents in high-pressure situations. The offensive firepower displayed against Corbett's pitching staff should provide confidence moving forward.

Junction City will look to bounce back and get back above .500 when they return to action. With the ability to score runs clearly established, the Tigers will focus on tightening up defensively as they continue building toward league play in the coming weeks.
