Churchill Lancers Girls Soccer 1-3 Willamette

Willamette handed Churchill a 3-1 defeat in girls soccer Thursday evening, dropping the Lancers to 8-7 on the season in 5A-6 Midwestern League Hybrid play at Churchill High School in Eugene, Oregon. The Wolverines controlled much of the match, scoring three times to pull away from a Churchill side that managed just one goal in response. The loss pushes the Lancers to 1-3 in conference, making the path to a league postseason position a steeper climb with the regular season winding down. Churchill entered the night at 8-6 and will need to regroup quickly if they hope to finish strong in the Midwestern League Hybrid standings. The Lancers have shown they can compete, owning a winning mark overall before Thursday's setback, and a bounce-back performance in their next outing will be critical. Churchill will look to respond in their upcoming match and keep their postseason hopes alive.
