South Eugene Axe Softball 11-8 Molalla

The bats came alive Thursday afternoon as South Eugene softball survived a wild offensive battle against visiting Molalla, emerging with an 11-8 victory in non-league action.
Both teams combined for 19 runs in what turned into a back-and-forth affair at the Axe complex. The Axemen managed to stay ahead in the scoring race, building enough cushion to withstand several Molalla rallies throughout the contest.
The win moves South Eugene to 4-2 on the season as they continue building momentum in the early portion of their spring campaign. While the final score suggests some defensive struggles, the offensive production will give the Axemen plenty of confidence moving forward.
The non-league victory provides valuable experience against quality competition from outside Lane County, helping prepare South Eugene for the challenges ahead in league play.
The Axemen will look to carry this offensive energy into their next outing as they work toward establishing themselves as a consistent threat in what's shaping up to be a competitive season.
