The bats were hot at Crow High School on Monday afternoon, but unfortunately for the home team, most of the offensive fireworks belonged to visiting Crook County. The Cowgirls erupted for 18 runs in a non-league softball victory over Crow, 18-6.

Crow entered the contest with a solid 4-1 record, looking to build momentum in their spring campaign. However, Crook County's potent lineup proved too much to handle, stringing together multiple big innings to pull away from the scrappy Crow squad.

To their credit, the home team didn't go down quietly, plating six runs of their own and showing resilience throughout the contest. The loss drops Crow to 4-2 on the season, still a respectable mark as they navigate the early portion of their schedule.

While Monday's result wasn't what Crow hoped for, there's plenty of season remaining to bounce back. The team will look to regroup and refocus as they prepare for their next opportunity to return to the win column.
